Code 95, a term that frequently appears in the transport sector, is more than just a combination of numbers and letters. It is an important European directive aimed at ensuring the qualifications of professional drivers. As a professional driver, you are required to obtain and maintain your Code 95. But what exactly does Code 95 entail?

What do you need to do for Code 95?

One of the main requirements of Code 95 is the mandatory continued education for professional drivers. Every five years, as a professional driver, you must complete 35 hours of further training to continue improving your knowledge and skills. This amounts to 7 hours per year. Convenient for you: almost all Code 95 courses at the Logistic Force academy are aligned with this hourly requirement and cover 7 or 14 hours for Code 95. These courses cover various topics, such as road safety and eco-driving. Did you know that you have a lot of freedom in choosing which courses you take for Code 95 continued education? Of course, you must still meet the 35-hour standard every five years and complete the courses with a certified provider. Additionally, there are various ways to earn ‘Code 95 points’ through e-learning. Want to know more? Contact one of our training coordinators at opleidingen@logisticforce.nl.

Impact on transport companies

For transport companies, complying with Code 95 is necessary. It has direct consequences for the operation of the business. Non-compliance can result in fines and even suspension of the driver’s driving privileges. Although the responsibility for complying with the continued education requirements rests with the drivers themselves, it is important for companies to keep track of this. However, it also contributes to a positive company image by demonstrating professionalism and reliability.

Road safety

One of the main goals of Code 95 is to promote road safety. By regularly further educating you as a driver, you stay informed about the latest developments in the sector, and your driving skills are always up-to-date. This contributes to a safer road network.

What does Code 95 entail?

Code 95 not only focuses on driving skills but also on sustainability. Eco-driving and attention to fuel efficiency are part of the continued education. As a result, Code 95 contributes to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transport sector. Additionally, Code 95 offers various development opportunities, such as lifestyle, crime prevention, and digital tachograph training.

But Code 95 is much more than just regulation. It professionalizes the transport sector. Through regular continued education and maintaining high standards, Code 95 contributes to quality, safety, and sustainability. It is not only a requirement but a crucial element for a responsible and reliable transport community.
