Going on a job interview? Here are our tips!

Man voor flip over

Imagine this: you have an interview for a great role in the transport sector—a chance to showcase your passion for transport. But before you go into the interview, it’s important to prepare well to make a great first impression on your potential new employer. After all, you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression! In this blog, we share our tips for your interview.

Step Back: It starts with a good cover letter

Many companies ask for a cover letter in addition to your CV. We know that some applicants struggle with this. At Logistic Force, we don’t place much value on a perfect cover letter. We prefer to focus on you as a person and your qualifications for the role you’re applying for. We understand that not everyone is good at writing a cover letter. So, if you’re applying for a role at Logistic Force, a short motivation is enough.

Your job interview in the transport sector

Alright, your motivation and CV have led to an invitation for an interview. This means you’ve made it to the next stage. Great job! Now comes what most people find the most nerve-wracking part of the job application process: the interview. But don’t stress. With our tips, you’ll sail through this phase. Then, it’s just about hoping you land the job!

Easy job applications at Logistic Force

We want you to feel comfortable when applying with us. That’s why we’ve made our application process as accessible as possible. In addition to not needing to sweat over a cover letter, our interviews are informal. This means we talk about your wishes and work experience. We tell you about Logistic Force and the job you’re applying for. No big deal. However, at some point, you may also have an interview with one of our clients. This may be a bit more formal than our interview. So, here are some helpful tips.

Tip 1: Good preparation is half the battle

This may seem obvious, but it’s crucial to prepare well for the interview. You can do this by researching the company and the role. If you’re applying for a position with Logistic Force, the recruitment coordinator will provide this information. But you can also find it on the company’s website, in the job listing, on social media, and through Google.

Prepare for the questions that may come up. Curious about what these questions could be? You can find them in the blog: Most Frequently Asked Questions During a Job Interview.

During the interview, show genuine interest in the company. Ask questions about their services, their future vision, and how your role as an employee fits into this. These questions show you’re engaged and sincerely interested in the company and the job.

Tip 2: Be on Time!

Make sure you’re on time. This means checking the route beforehand and thinking about possible delays. A few minutes before your scheduled interview, check in at reception or with the person opening the door. This shows that you take the interview seriously and respect the time they’ve set aside for you.

Tip 3: Exude confidence

The day of the interview has arrived. Walk into the office with confidence and greet the interviewer with a smile. The conversation will often begin with questions about your CV and work experience in the transport sector. Answer these questions confidently, providing concrete examples of your past work experience. You’re well-prepared for common interview questions, so you’ll have no trouble talking about your motivation, strengths, and how you handle challenges in the transport sector.

Tip 4: What to show in the transport sector

Make sure to communicate well. This is important in an industry where clear communication is key for smooth operations. Also, highlight your flexibility. This is highly valued in a sector where work hours often vary.

Tip 5: Relax!

Lastly, the most important tip: stay true to yourself. Take a deep breath before the interview and… relax. Remember that our recruitment coordinator already had a good feeling about your CV, work experience, and your interview. If not, they wouldn’t have introduced you to the client. This last step is a piece of cake.

And now… wait

After the interview, you leave the company feeling satisfied. You’ve presented yourself well and highlighted the key qualities needed in the transport sector. Now, it’s time to wait for the all-important phone call—hopefully with good news and confirmation that you’ve taken the next step in your career within the transport sector!
