Traffic Fines 2026: what you need to know if you’re on the road a lot!
Marcel Reitsma is the kind of person you’d want to have as an employee: enthusiastic, with a great work ethic and a lot of positive energy. But where can you still find temp workers or employees of this caliber? At Logistic Force! We spoke with Marcel about his new career as a garbage collector and asked him about his collaboration with Logistic Force. When asked whether he prefers to be called a garbage man, recycling worker, or refuse truck driver, Marcel answers: “A garbage man, of course! It’s a beautiful profession, and garbage has no negative connotation for me. Everyone has garbage: you, your neighbor, and even the king.”
Marcel decided to make a drastic career change. After working in a factory for years, he wanted something completely different: to become a garbage man, ideally as a truck driver for the garbage compactor! “A good friend of mine had experience with Logistic Force and was very enthusiastic about their approach. And after my introduction to Logistic Force in Oudehaske, I was too.” Marcel immediately indicated that he wanted to start as a garbage truck driver. However, he needed to obtain his C driver’s license first. Barry Bijlholt, the recruitment coordinator at Logistic Force Oudehaske, initially didn’t have a garbage compactor driver position for Marcel. “But of course, we don’t let talent go to waste. So, we offered Marcel the opportunity to obtain his C driver’s license through our own academy and temporarily take on a different role. Behind the scenes, we kept searching for a job for him with a waste management company.”
And that’s exactly what our brand promise, ‘Your Better Job,’ is about. For our candidates, it means personal contact with one of our recruitment coordinators. No one at Logistic Force is presented to clients based solely on their CV. This way, we know exactly who our candidates are and promise to always search for a job that fits their skills and knowledge, keeping their preferences for a new job at the forefront. Our clients also benefit from this personalized and targeted approach. We search for and find the best candidates for their open positions. We do this as long as it takes to find the perfect match. It’s a win-win situation for us!
We’re curious if Marcel has found ‘his better job’ by now. “Definitely. I’ve been working as a garbage man (compactor truck driver) for quite some time now, and occasionally I also switch to loader depending on the demand and workload. It’s a nice combination for my employer and a nice variation in my daily tasks. I’m incredibly happy with this job and have really found my rhythm.” Barry adds: “People who want to pursue a particular profession out of intrinsic motivation and drive usually succeed in realizing that dream. We, as well as our clients, are extremely happy with that type of worker.”
Of course, the intrinsic motivation of a candidate is essential in finding that one better job and making a perfect match between the employer’s needs and the candidate’s preferences. But Logistic Force also plays a significant role in this, according to Marcel. “The connection was there immediately during the first meeting, and it’s never gone away. I’d almost say I see the ‘colleagues’ at Logistic Force as family or friends. I still visit them regularly. But where they really helped me was, of course, with the truck driver training. They facilitated that internally, making the process quick and smooth. That was very valuable for me. They really listened to my wishes and were always transparent about the possibilities. I think it’s great that they kept searching for the job I really wanted, and where I’m now in the right place. They went that extra step. That’s quite unique in the temp industry, I can tell you.”
Barry has closely followed the process with Marcel. “I’m happy that Marcel feels this way, and it’s mutual. We find it extremely important that someone is in the right job and doing work that makes them genuinely happy. Sometimes we find that ‘Better Job’ immediately, and other times it takes a little longer, but we don’t give up easily,” says Barry.
