In 5 steps through the Logistic Force application procedure

Man aan telefoon op kantoor

Would you like to take the opportunity to develop your career in 5 quick steps, with good guidance and the prospect of a permanent contract? If your answer is ‘yes’, we’d love to get in touch with you. Our colleagues at Logistic Force are always looking for ‘The Better Job’. But what does this process look like? In this blog, we’ll take you through our approachable application procedure.

Step 1: You get in touch, we reel you in

You’re looking for a new job in the transport or logistics sector, and Logistic Force crosses your path in your search. This could be because you’ve seen an interesting vacancy with us, follow our website or socials, or have been referred by someone. We don’t mind how you get in touch, as long as you reach out! What’s important is that we quickly get your details so we can see which vacancies match your (work) experience and preferences. Ideally, we’d like to receive a short cover letter and a CV. If you’re having trouble creating a good CV, no problem! Our placement coordinator will gladly assist you with that (at a later stage). Just make sure to mention your work experience in your cover letter.

Once we receive your message, we’ll get in touch with you as soon as possible (usually within 1 business day). The placement coordinator will ask a few short questions to understand your ambitions and what exactly you’re looking for in a job. If there’s a match, the placement coordinator will invite you for an introductory meeting. This will take place as soon as possible, but it depends on both your and their schedule.

Step 2: Nice to meet you

The introductory meeting at one of our branches is informal. This means it’s not a typical or stiff interview. What’s most important is that you feel comfortable. We’ll talk about you as a person, your (work) experience, your preferences for a new job, and of course, there will be plenty of room for you to ask any questions. Sometimes, based on the phone conversation and the introductory meeting, the placement coordinator already knows which vacancies are suitable for you and shares this with you at the end of the meeting. In other cases, you’ll hear back within two business days after the meeting.

The number of vacancies that fit you depends on several factors, including:

  • Your preferences for a new job (hours, location, commute time, salary expectations, etc.).
  • Your experience.
  • Your flexibility.
  • The current availability of vacancies.
  • The needs of our clients.

It’s also important to mention that regardless of the outcome of your application, we highly value honesty and transparency. The placement coordinator will go over all our interactions with you and make sure to follow through. If there is no match with one of our clients, they will keep your details for one month (according to GDPR regulations). If after that month you haven’t found anything and want us to keep searching for you, just let us know.

Step 3: Meeting with your (potential) new employer

If the placement coordinator finds you a suitable candidate for one or maybe multiple of our vacancies, the next step is up to you—whether you want to meet the employer. It’s important to act quickly. Our clients are often eager to find motivated colleagues, so they appreciate when you know what you want. Plus, there are often other ‘candidates’ competing for that one great job, so it’s best to let us know your answer quickly.

How you meet with your potential new employer depends on the client’s process and preferences. Some clients fully delegate this process to Logistic Force. In that case, the placement coordinator will take you on a tour of the company, and together, you’ll decide whether you’ll proceed to work with them.

However, sometimes clients want to meet you directly. In such cases, we will send your details (CV) along with a personal recommendation from the placement coordinator to the client. Then, you’ll be invited for a meeting at the company. Of course, you can always ask the placement coordinator for tips and have all your burning questions answered beforehand.

Step 4: The real work begins

Once both you and our client have enthusiastically said YES to each other, the real work begins! Agreements will be made, and the placement coordinator will inform you about what’s next and when you’re expected to start at your new workplace.

If it turns out that there’s not a good match after the meeting with our client, we’ll of course inform you with constructive feedback. If you wish, we’ll keep your details for one month while continuing the search for another job. But we’ll take it a step further. We offer you the opportunity to take vocational training at our own Logistic Force training department. This gives you the chance to be placed in any desired job.

Once you start with one of our clients, you’ll have regular check-ins with the placement coordinator. Even though we assume you’ve found ‘Your Better Job’ and are completely happy at your new workplace, we think it’s important to check in from time to time. After all, you’re out of sight, but definitely not out of mind. Of course, you can always reach out to us if you have any questions.

Step 5: The Better Job for good?

After a while (usually 6 – 12 months), the client will decide whether to offer you a permanent contract. If that’s the case, you will leave Logistic Force and join the company directly. As for the work itself, nothing really changes—it’s more of a formality. We’ll then say goodbye because you’ve found ‘Your Better Job’, and who knows, we might see you again for something like a team leader training.

If the temporary contract expires and the client does not intend to hire you permanently (for example, because the assignment or job is ending), we will, if you wish, start looking for another (temporary) job for you.
